Yasmin Ameer
Yasmin Ameer who heads our catastrophic injury work has been practising in the field of personal injury work for 25 years.
She is a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel, the Law Society's Clinical Negligence Panel and the European Brain Injury Society and the United Kingdom Brain Injury Forum. She is a Solicitor approved by Headway. She works closely with a number of organisations that have been set up for the benefit of the victims of catastrophic injury.
Yasmin Ameer is on the Court of Protection Panel and is often appointed as a Deputy by the Court of Protection to act for clients who, as a result of serious head injury are unable to manage their financial affairs. Yasmin has a special interest in representing children who have had the misfortune to suffer head injury.
She is a member of the Children's Brain Injury Trust and has acted for many children who have suffered head injury as a result of Road Traffic accidents or clinical negligence.
Ciaran Claffey
Ciaran is a solicitor at Ameer Meredith, advising victims of accidents, injuries and clinical negligence. Originally from Dublin, he is dual qualified in both the Republic of Ireland and in England and has been practising as a solicitor in England since October 2009.
Ciaran assists senior solicitors at the firm with their complex cases involving severe and catastrophic injuries.
Jackie Price
Jackie Price is a Litigation Executive with a busy Claimant personal injury caseload including Road Traffic Accidents, Employers Liability and Public Liability matters.
Jackie has been working for Ameer Meredith since 1999. She has wide experience of handling all types of claims ranging from whiplash injury claims to serious spinal injury and brain injury claims. Jackie has recently dealt with a CICA claim involving a pre-tariff claim in which the client was awarded £1.7 million in damages following an injury in the playground. She continues to be involved in relation to this particular client in assisting with community rehabilitation of the client with the help of a support team headed by a Case Manager.
She has a special interest in Court of Protection work and works as part of the Ameer Meredith Court of Protection team.
Maurita Lawes
Maurita Lawes is a Deputyship Manager. She looks after the day to day handling of financial matters for clients whose financial affairs are looked after by the Court of Protection.
Maurita is in charge of the general running of the Deputyship department in conjunction with the firm’s accounts department. She has wide experience in Deputyship work and has organised and run this department in a very cost-effective way.
Sophie Grainger
Sophie is an Assistant Solicitor at Ameer Meredith Solicitors and specialises in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. She has a particular interest in cases concerning the Court of Protection and issues surrounding mental capacity.
Sophie qualified as a solicitor in October 2009 and has gained experience at two other law firms before joining Ameer Meredith Solicitors in October 2011.
